CONTEST

Akita KOSEN proactively participates in various contests. The“ manufacturing” experience of creating one piece in cooperation with friends is a good opportunity to acquire communication skills and practical ability.

Programming contest

This is a competition in which technical college students from all over the country use their daily programming experience to compete with their outstanding ideas and ability to realize information processing technology.

This project is held in collaboration with the local community and the information industry as a cooperative project of the Lifelong Learning Festival sponsored by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.

Robot contest

This is a competition in which technical college students from all over the country compete with their ideas and technical skills according to a given competition task. This is a nationwide educational event where you can experience the fun of "thinking for yourself and creating robots with your own hands" and share the importance of coming up with ideas and the wonders of manufacturing.


English precon

With the slogan "Technical college students who can use English," the aim is to develop technical college students with "English presentation skills" that meet the expectations of companies, universities, etc. as part of measures to improve the English skills of technical college students nationwide.

This contest was born as There were many speeches and presentations related to manufacturing and science and technology typical of technical college students, and the judges praised the contest as ``equal to or even higher in quality than presentation contests held by university engineering departments.''

Design competition

This is a competition in which technical college students from all over the country compete in designs related to living environments that utilize the results of their daily learning. By competing in designs based on ``comprehensive technology for constructing the living environment in which people live,'' the aim is to contribute to the development of human resources rich in creativity and practical ability, which is the goal of technical colleges. (commonly known as: design designer)

Paths after graduation

After leaving school, students can grant their wishes for entering higher-level schools as well as finding employment nearly 100%.

Finding employment

Since March 1969, the first graduates of Akita KOSEN were sent to societ y, our school h as h ad a track r ecord of n early 100% employment rate, which has been hardly affected by recession. We are focusing on helping our students find employment: briefing session by companies in Akita prefecture, holding of the job festival , thepromotion of Cooperative Education , the implementation of long-term internship (workplace experience of approximately one month) and so forth.

Entering higher-level schools

Although NIT itself aims for complete education, there are two ways of continuing their educations for the students who want to acquire higher techniques a nd theories: by c ontinuing o n to (two-year) advanced engineering faculty of NIT or transferring to the third year of university. It is possible that they will be qualified to enter such prestigious universities as Tohoku University and others.

Fundamentally, High School Tuition Support Fund System is applicable to from the first grader to the third grader like high school. The tuition burdens 0 yen, 56,400 yen, 115,800 yen or 234,600 yen, according to the household income.
